The St. Augustine Light stands proudly as a historic beacon along the enchanting coast of Florida
Commissioned by the newly formed American government in 1824, this iconic lighthouse has witnessed the passage of time and the evolution of the maritime landscape.
The current St. Augustine Lighthouse was built in 1874, when the previous one, built from local shell by the first settlers, began to crumble. At the top of the tower is a Fresnel lens - a real synthesis of science and art, completely handmade by French masters.
